I always use free range eggs, the best vanilla and luxury Belgian chocolate in my cakes as well as professional quality icing with homemade and handmade decorations. All of my recipes are unique to Peek-a-boo with many years of trials and tasting along the way to perfect the flavours. The fruit cakes are from a family recipe that has been passed down four generations and are matured for up to three months and fed with quality brandy to create a lovely rich moist cake.

I am a member of the Guild of British Sugarcraft and have completed a Masters Diploma in professional cake design and decoration. I have the foods standards agency level 5 hygiene rating along with health and hygiene certificates in food safety as well as food safety for manufacturing. I also have full public liability insurance.

I encourage my clients to have a different flavour on each tier. This provides you and your guests with a wonderful choice of flavours when the cake is served.

Cake Flavours!

Here is a list of my most popular flavours to give you some ideas, if there is something else that you had in mind do not hesitate to give me a shout and I can see what we can come up with to suit your event! I provide menu flavour cards for your guests to choose:

  • Vanilla Sponge with jam preserve and vanilla buttercream

  • Chocolate Fudge Cake with chocolate buttercream

  • Chocolate Fudge Cake with salted caramel and chocolate buttercream

  • Lemon Sponge with lemon curd and lemon buttercream

  • Elderflower Sponge with lemon curd and lemon or Elderflower buttercream

  • Carrot sponge with classic buttercream (orange buttercream works well with this too)

  • Coffee sponge with coffee buttercream (can be done with baileys other drinks work well too!)

  • Banoffee sponge with toffee buttercream

  • Chocolate orange sponge with chocolate orange buttercream 

  • Chocolate fudge cake with mint choc chip buttercream

  • Bakewell sponge with raspberry preserve and buttercream

  • White Chocolate cake with white chocolate buttercream and raspberry preserve

  • Lime and Coconut sponge with lime curd filling and buttercream

  • Butterscotch sponge with caramel buttercream

  • Chocolate sponge with peanut buttercream

  • Vanilla Funfetti Sprinkles Cake with vanilla buttercream

  • Custard Cream sponge with custard buttercream

  • Strawberry milkshake sponge and buttercream

  • Red Velvet and Blue velvet also available  

  • Rich brandy soaked fruit cake - I use alcohol in some of my recipes, but this can be omitted / substituted, if required.
